Our Roasted Oolong Tea (Baked Oolong Tea or Strong Aroma Oolong Tea) is originated from the beautiful craggy Wuyi mountains in Fujian Province, China. The high altitude, high humidity climate makes an ideal environment for growing the most aromatic and flavorful teas. Large, wiry oolong tea leaves produce a deep amber cup, with a rich flavor and earthy aroma. Reminiscent of a late harvest wine, the complex flavor profile has hints of honeysuckle, roasted barley and nuts.
Our Roasted Oolong Tea undergoes post-production "curing" of the leaves and typically are roasted or baked at low temperatures for long intervals. Roasting also increases the shelf life of the tea leaves.
Our Roasted Oolong Tea has a natural roasted, earthy flavor with a long-lasting fragrance that produces a darker, richer brew. While the hue is deeper, the tea should remain clear and clean. A hint of flowers or peachy sweetness should be detectable through the toasted nose. Finally, the palate should be complex with a spectrum of flavors, without being overwhelming or bitter.
