Tea Description | Mo Li Long Zhu, also known as Jasmine Dragon Pearls, Jasmine Pearls or Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls, is a fully handcrafted, top-quality jasmine tea in pearl shape, as much an elegant work of art as it is a delicious drink. Its production is a long, complicated process. A bud and sprig is picked and then hand rolled into a pearl shape, then dried as a green tea, until the jasmine blooms. These night-blooming flowers are picked early each morning afterwards, before the petals open - and when they do finally open in the early evening, they do so with an audible popping sound. The freshly picked jasmine flowers are mixed with the dried green tea (about 60% of tea and 40% jasmine) and left to sit for about five hours, ensuring that each pearl fully absorbs the flavor and aroma of the jasmine. For this grade of Jasmine dragon Pearl, this process is done a total of five times with fresh batches of jasmine each time. Then the flowers are removed and the tea is allowed to carefully dry for a few more days after being in the moisture of the jasmine flowers.
This is a beautiful jasmine tea to watch as the pearls slowly uncurl in the water. It has a strong jasmine flavor and aroma that comes out over many infusions. Its taste is refreshing, soft, and sweet, never becoming bitter even if it is brewed at high temperatures. The fact that the jasmine aroma lasts over so many infusions is a way of proving that our Jasmine Dragon Pearl is infused with real jasmine flowers, not artificially scented. In addition, no chemical fertilizer, pesticide, or herbicide was used in the production of this tea.
