A bizarre and wonderful tea, our Sheng Pu-erh (Raw Pu-erh or Uncooked Pu-erh) is organically grown in Southwestern China, where ancient tea trees reside in the fertile soil of Yunnan, known as the historical birthplace of tea. A truly diverse range of flavors and aromas are possible with sheng pu-erh. Many seek Sheng Pu-erh for ‘Cha Qi’ or tea energy. The feeling one can obtain through drinking Sheng Pu-erh is one of high energy, alertness and at the same time a deep feeling of calm and contentment!
The premium-quality extraordinarily large tea leaves are hand plucked, allowed to wither and oxidize to a level of about 10% prior to being hand rolled and then slowly dried in the sun by using the most authentic and natural sun-drying method.
When the tea is brewed, the tea leaves will unfurl to brew up a golden cup with light herbaceous notes, subtle muskiness, and an earthy sweetness having just a slight hint of smoke. It has a marvelous flavor with effervescent astringency and a gentle yet long-lasting and cleansing finish and delivers a light, woodsy aftertaste. Given its young age and the dynamic nature of sheng pu-erh teas, the flavors of this tea will continue to evolve over the next several years.
